Women
of Destiny "The idea for this album came
shortly after the Relief Society Declaration of The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was presented.
The Declaration is such a beautiful embodiment of the
identity and beliefs of the 4.4 million "women
of destiny" who comprise the Relief Society. It
has been a deeply rewarding experience to create and
gather this collection of original songs, which supports
the principles and values described in the Declaration
and celebrates the unique gifts women share. We believe
that as women come to live these principles and acquire
these attributes, they will be instruments in the hands
of God - a powerful force for good in their various
circles of influence. We hope this music will help women
everywhere discover their destiny as part of the worldwide
sisterhood to which they belong." |
Robert
Stoddard/John Huntington
 |
A must-have for lovers of
good Christmas music, the songs from December
Tales freshly express the sentiments of the Season,
both sacred and secular. Stoddard's musical theatre
background is evident in the dramatic structure of the
music and lyrics, brilliantly interpreted by the rich,
versatile baritone of John Huntington, a popular California
artist of the musical stage and concert hall. "The
music of Christmas has always held a sacred, very precious
place in my soul" - Robert Stoddard |

Dan
Carter
 |
I was born and raised in
Caldwell, Idaho, went to Ricks College in 1974, served
a mission to England, came home and attended BYU and
graduated with a degree in composition. Marrying in
1980, we have two children. Presently serving on the
General Music Committee of the LDS Church, I work full-time
at Church headquarters typesetting music in over 100
languages. In 1980 I wrote a stage musical that was
performed at Robert Redford's Sundance Theater. In '86
I wrote music for Senator Jake Garn's reelection campaign.
The Mormon Tabernacle Choir has performed my pieces,
and I have about 8 dozen or so compositions in print.
Some of that music includes several oratorios and cantatas,
a pop symphony (really!) and a lot of songs, choral
pieces and instrumental works. I have released two CDs,
"Come unto Him,
Music by Dan Carter," and "Dan Carter, Hymns for
Solo Voice." The latter also has a companion book, sold
separately. I plan on releasing several more books of
music, including "Hymns for Duet Voices" in book and
on CD, as well as other books of music and CDs for voice
and instruments."

like Greater Than Us All and Women at the Well. His
latest project, Hear My Praise, breaks from previous

Aaron
Edson - "Wondering"
Aaron
Edson's inspirational ballad "Show Him", which
is based on President Hinckley's "6 Be's" talk to
the youth of the Church, has been one of the favorites of visitors
to LDS Music World, and was chosen for the compilation CD for
best LDS musicians. "Show Him" is available on Aaron's
CD, "Wondering", which brings a fresh, new sound to
the world of contemporary LDS music. The album takes the listener
on a soul-searching journey, featuring a wide range of pop feels
over its 11 songs. The gospel messages never seem heavy-handed
or super-imposed over pop music. Rather, the songs are organic
expressions of life today as seen through the eyes of a gifted,
young LDS artist.
Wayne
Burton
While serving in the Salt Lake City
Mission, Wayne
Burton spent many p-days writing music. In the summer of

The
Power Within is a celebration in music of the strength of
the human spirit. The lyrics are crafted to convey messages
of love, courage, faith, and the power to live together in peace
and harmony. Producer Greg Hansen calls The Power Within "a
significant inspirational achievement." Two of the songs
from the CD were performed as the openings of the 2001 General
Women's Conference at BYU - a very rare opportunity for the
first CD from a brand new artist! The Power Within was released
on February 24, 2001 at Mckay Center, UVSC where 4,000 people
showed up - the kids, their parents and their families, and
sold over 2,000 copies the first day.

Over the years, no less than 27 of Sister
Snow's hymns have been published, 10 of which we still sing
today. Aside from her lyrics and poetry, Sister Snow is probably
best known as the second General Relief Society President. She

attend medical schools and helped to establish Deseret Hospital,
becoming its first president. Primary children two decades after
her death were encouraged to "reverence the prophet, the
priesthood, and Eliza R. Snow.

he's Victor Borge. |
