Acceptance
Criteria and Standards for Content
|
| Acceptance Criteria |
| Music is reviewed according to:
- creative content (music and lyrics)
- performance quality (instruments, vocals)
- audio quality (recording)
- appropriateness (lyrics) |
| |
| Musical Style |
| While some musical styles are considered more
uplifting than others, LDS Music World does not consider any
style of music to be inherently contrary to the teachings of
the Church. For this reason, the determination of appropriateness
is based primarily on lyrical content. |
| |
| Standards for Content |
| Strong preference is given to music which
is inspirational or uplifting in nature. Songs of praise which
speak of Christ or make specific reference to the doctrines
and teachings of the Church are given special consideration.
Music which is not inspirational, but has
a positive and uplifting message is also highly encouraged.
Songs with secular lyrics are considered for
inclusion on the site provided they do not contain graphic
language, foul subject matter or messages which speak against
Christ or the doctrines of the Church. |
| |
| Music on Other Websites |
| LDS Music World does not endorse or take
responsibility for music on other websites, even if the music
is written or performed by artists listed on this website.
Music is reviewed on a per-song basis. If
the song meets the mentioned criteria, it will be accepted
regardless of other music which the artist may have produced. |

| Definition of an LDS Musician |
| LDS Music World is intended to showcase
the music of LDS artists and songwriters. Simply stated, an
LDS musician is a musician who is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. LDS Music World
does not attempt to verify church membership, but instead
recognizes that non-members would have little incentive to
submit their music to this website. If one or more members
of a band are LDS, their music will be considered. Please
do not submit music if you are not a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. |
