The Work and the Story
LDS Music World presents the music from the LDS
film The Work and the Story
Rooftop Recordings is proud to announce the release of the soundtrack
to the motion picture “The work and the story” produced by
Nathan Smith Jones. The soundtrack was produced by John Brantley and it
includes 12 songs from up and coming artists from Arizona and Utah. If
you like Power Pop, Folk, Rock or Punk, then you will like this soundtrack.
Even with the variety of styles, every song on this album is a hit single.
There is nothing more exciting then discovering a new artist or band for
the first time and we know the listener of this soundtrack will come away
with that same excitement. To help in that discovery, we would like to
recognize and introduce those envolved.

John Brantley (“The work and the Story”,
“Choose the Right” and “Hope of Israel”)
Not only does John Brantley bring his production skills to the soundtrack
he also wrote and performed the title track song
“The work and the Story” and rearranged and performed
the classic hymns; “Choose the Right” and “Hope
of Israel”. John is a graduate of the renown music school
“Musicians Institute” in Hollywood California and is
an accomplished guitar player in many styles. After graduating,
he spent the 90’s touring with the rock group 3rd Floor and
Sandbox Super Models and recorded two albums with the Grammy winning
Producer Neil Kernon. Although he has released 6 albums, he has
recorded and played on numerous projects for other artists. Since
going out on his own he has started producing out of the phoenix
area. He recorded and mixed the Goth Pop band Audra which had 4
songs on MTV’s hit show “The real world” in New
Orleans.
In 2002 he produced up and coming artist Kevin Burdick. His new
album “Deep Blue America” is an emotional and spiritual
snapshot into the heart of America since Sept.11. His most current
projects are Drex Davis and Jared Platt who both have songs on the
soundtrack. After finishing their projects he has plans to record
a new solo album due out in 2004. To find out more about John Brantley
