More
about Taylor Anderson
I have
studied piano and guitar privately, and have sung with choirs since
the age of 6. My last major choir experience was with the Mormon
Youth Chorus and BYU’s Men’s Chorus (1997-98). I have
trained vocally with Blanche Christensen (among others), and have
received "Superior" and "1" ratings at several
Utah State Solo/Ensemble Competitions. Additionally, I have performed
in musicals throughout Davis and Salt Lake Counties (e.g., A Day,
Night, and a Day by Doug Stewart (author of Saturday's Warrior);
The Sound of Music, Scrooge, and Shenandoah at Pages Lane Theater;
and 1940’s Radio Hour with Bountiful Community Theater). I
played the lead role in my high school’s musical, Bye, Bye
Birdie. I have also recorded vocals solos on two professional albums:
A Day, A Night, and a Day, (1991) and EFY: Return with Honor (1995).
I graduated
from Viewmont High School (Bountiful, Utah) in 1993. I served a
mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the
Canada Halifax Mission, returning home in 1997. I graduated from
Brigham Young University in 1999 with a degree in English, and anticipate
graduating from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, with a juris
doctorate and master of business administration in May of 2003.
Upon graduation from Willamette, I will be returning to work in
Salt Lake City. I am married and have two little girls, Carissa
June and Sophie Kay. Most of the music on One Little Miracle was
recorded at the Centerville Academy of Performing Arts.
As
stated above, I have performed throughout Utah, especially in Davis
County. I have provided music for weddings on several occasions,
and for church services in Utah, Idaho, and Oregon on numerous occasions.
Additionally, I performed extensively throughout Nova Scotia and
Newfoundland while living in Canada, and several of the songs on
the CD are about my experiences there. The song Let Your Light So
Shine was Viewmont High School's Seminary theme song in 1993 (I
was asked to write it by the seminary president). Earlier this year
I performed for over 200 people at a Valentine's Day concert in
Salem, Oregon.
