Sole
Focus
"F.O.C.U.S." (originally
an acronym for Focusing On Christ's Unique Sacrifice) was
started in Las Vegas in early 1999 and originally had nearly
30 members in the group. As a "youth group" (more like a choir)
the members performed weekly at firesides throughout the southwest.
Due to missions, marriages and moves, the group would reduce
to seven main vocalists, songwriters and lyricists and become
"Sole FOCUS." Beginning in February of 2001, the new group
began recording its first album which contained 13 original
songs. Sole FOCUS is one of the most contemporary sounding
groups to hit the LDS Music Scene. Sometimes called a cross
between the Dixie Chicks and Matchbox 22, the group's unique
sound is finding wide acceptance among even the most skeptical
listeners. Two of the songs most liked by fans are "Letters
to Christ" and "Dear God" (the song of a teenage girl struggling
with obtaining an answer to prayer). The group also features
on its first album "In Memory Of" (a song previously released
as a single about the Title of Liberty, but used as a Red
Cross Fund Raiser for the 9/11/01 tragedy). The first album
is called FOCUS.
