More about Pam Nielsen Pam’s music career began at an early age. She sang her first vocal solo when she was eight years old, then poured her heart into learning the piano, giving up singing for awhile. During that time, her family moved from Canada to the United States, where she appeared at the World’s Fair—a talented 14-year-old playing the Mendelssohn Piano Concerto. She continued playing the piano, winning numerous State honors as she performed several piano concertos with her high school orchestra. After graduating from college, she began nine years of traveling the country with her husband, Scott, a professional baseball player. When they settled in Chicago with the White Sox for a season, Pam realized how much she missed music in her life, and began voice lessons again. A natural, she sang rock and roll, big band, country, and Motown with a dance band for a few years, and made several guest appearances singing the national anthem at AAA baseball games and NBA basketball games. She also began acting and has had roles on “Touched by an Angel”, “Promised Land”, “Cover Me”, the made-for-television movie “No Place Like Home”, the feature film “Dumb and Dumber”, and numerous television and radio commercials and industrial films. Throughout her life she was inspired by music and artists from all different genres, including Karen Carpenter, Basia, Gloria Estefan, John Denver, Earth Wind & Fire, Wynonna, Tim McGraw, Phil Vassar, Natalie Cole, Manhattan Transfer and many of the Big Band artists. And in 2000, with the support of her four boys and husband, Pam began writing songs for her first album. I am free is a beautiful expression of God’s love through Pam’s crystal-clear voice and touching lyrics.
