| The album weaves three new original songs, three new recordings of songs previously released on different projects and five covers of songs from Christian artists like Michael W. Smith and Chris Rice. "I know it probably sounds like a cliché, but I really feel that this is the best recording I’ve ever done," says Cope. "The material is really amazing, or at least I know the five cover songs are," he continues in his gently self-effacing way. The album grew out of Cope’s desire to create an album that expressed his personal faith in and love for Jesus Christ. "I wanted this album to simply say that Christ is magnificent. Everything around us says it, but man doesn’t say it enough. Each song on the album expresses that magnificence in a different way." Cope re-recorded three of his songs previously released on albums for Especially for Youth, a summer youth program run by Brigham Young University, for Hear My Praise. "I’ve always wanted to re-record some of those EFY songs. This album was a great opportunity to dig in deeper and do some great things with those songs." |

Kenneth
Cope Biography Kenneth Cope grew up in Houston, Texas, where he attended the High School for the Performing Arts. A talented singer and songwriter, he started out writing and performing for youth. He has composed numerous songs for seven albums produced for the BYU Especially For Youth Program. He
received critical acclaim with the 1989 release of Greater Than
Us All, an album which catapulted Kenneth into the limelight. Greater
Than Us All remains a top-selling inspirational album. Songs like
"His Hands" and "Never A Better Hero" have become
classics. Kenneth made his mark in the contemporary singer/songwriter world with the critically acclaimed contemporary album Stories From Eden's Garden, a thoughtful album, featuring Kenneth's skillful playing on acoustic guitar and beautiful vocals. The Faith Centered Music Association (FCMA) awarded Kenneth 5 PEARL Awards in 1999, including Male Vocalist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Contemporary Song of the Year ("Eden's Garden"), Contemporary Album of the Year and Album of the Year. Stories From Eden's Garden also garnered Kenneth an Indie nomination for Contemporary Christian album of the Year from the Association for Independent Music. Recognition from his peers and public has come by the armful for Kenneth. He received the LDS Booksellers Association Listener's Choice Award for Best Male Vocalist in 1994, 1995 and 1996. He was honored by the FCMA in 1998 with a PEARL Award in the Inspirational Songwriter category for his song "Three Angels." In 1999, he returned to the sacred/inspirational genre with the release of A Prayer Unto Thee, a collection of beautifully arranged hymns. Unlike many of Kenneth's previous inspirational albums, A Prayer Unto Thee is sung entirely by Kenneth himself. The album is a personal offering of devotion and worship, deeply moving and wonderfully passionate. More recently, Kenneth has ventured into the world of film scoring. He wrote and produced an original score for Joseph Smith, The Seer, an interactive CD-ROM that explores and examines the life of the prophet. He is also currently collaborating with author Susan Easton Black and artist Liz Lemon Swindle on a multimedia project that will chronicle the life of Christ, called Son of Man. Kenneth lives with his wife Kathy and their three daughters in Salt Lake City, Utah. His latest album, Hear My Praise, was released by the newly created Lumen Records on April 17, 2002. Kenneth
