Jon Schmidt
Jon Schmidt has quickly become well known in the Western United States,
where he consistently performs to sold out audiences in major performance
venues. Jon’s credits include six albums, five wildly popular volumes
of his original piano scores, performances and radio play all over the
country, several top 40 songs and over one million plays at mp3.com, a
Pearl Award, a televised concert on a local PBS station and "A Jon
Schmidt Christmas" which has fast become a successful yearly Christmas
tradition along the Wasatch Front. As a teenager, Jon was inspired by
the early albums of Mannheim Steamroller . "Because of them, I took
license to blatantly mix elements from my classical piano training with
rock and roll." he said. Judging from the remarkable diversity in
the age and background of a typical Jon Schmidt audience, his show amazingly
seems to appeal to everyone. After the airing of the PBS televised concert,
hundreds of messages were left on KUED’s viewer line with comments
such as "I couldn’t turn it off" and "one of the
most incredible hours I’ve spent on a Saturday night in a long time".
