The Hinckley Brothers
LDS Music World presents the music of LDS music group The Hinckley Brothers

The most accurate way to say it is that music flows like blood through this family. Derek, Nathan, & Spencer have been singing three parts forever it seems and from the time little Spence joined the trio at about age six these three bro's have known that there was something really cool about what happens when they get together. They've been on stage countless times and have spent some of their best moments together singing their hearts out. They are prolific somgwriters and entertainers, thanks in part to equally talented parents who've performed and composed for over 30 years professionally. The Hinckley's are now planning a new CD release for the first time in five years. This album will feature something that there just isn't enough of, new original country. In the time since the last release many songs have been written and lots of studio time has been logged. This collection will be something truly special. The Hinckley's are now based out of the Nashville, TN and have the resources to bring their sound and style to life. They thank you all for your support and can't wait to get some new music out there! Look for it!

Better When You’re Gone
(D. Hinckley, T. Castleton)

V1
It seems I love you better
When you’re gone
Alone there’s not as much I get wrong
And it’s easier to show you my heart
When we’re 2080 miles apart

Ch
But when you’re gone
I miss your touch
I miss you and our baby so much
I miss your smile
I miss that laugh
I miss all the messed up reasons we get mad
And then I wish you were home
And I wish I didn’t love you
Better When You’re Gone

V2
I love you better when you’re gone
That time you flew out west to see your mom
For a week and three days all I saw
Was you and me the sand in Panama

Ch

Br
When you’re gone
The thought of how it outta be lingers on
And it’s clear as summer rain what I don’t do
But I want to, Lord knows I want to

Ch
When you’re gone
I miss your touch
I miss you and our baby so much
I miss your smile
I miss that laugh
I’m so thankful that you’ve finally made it back
And I felt it all along
And I can’t believe I ever loved you
Better When You’re Gone

Everything I Need
D. Hinckley

I asked for strength
God gave me weakness to make me strong
I asked for wisdom
God gave me problems to solve
I asked for prosperity
And He gave me the will to try
I asked for guidance
He gave me chances to decide

And He opened up the Heavens
For as far as I could see
He gave me nothing that I wanted
He gave me Everything I Need

I asked for courage
God gave me danger to overcome
He stood below, held my rope
Said “If you trust me now then, jump”
I asked Him for love
And he gave me someone in need
He said do it unto him
As you’d do it unto me

And He opened up the Heavens
For as far as I could see
He gave me nothing that I wanted
He gave me Everything I Need

The Way It Was
Derek Hinckley

I remember runnin wild
With that wind in my hair
Makin tire tracks on sand
The gravel in my hand
The blinkin fireflies that fill the
Nighttime air

Down to Beaver Creek we’d go
To build a clubhouse out of sheets
And we all drank lemonade
Momma watched us from the shade
Where the two touchdowns were
Marked off by the trees
I see it up ahead over the hill
It’s pullin into view and it’s a
Place I know so well

Back home
That’s the way it was
That time and place we’ll never be again
But I’ve got a photographic mind
And it allows me to see it
Just as clear as a blue sky
And everything rolls
Back to the way it was

I’ve been drifting home
A thousand times in my mind
Thinkin how I’d love to be
In the hills of Tennessee
And how I’d love to leave these concrete
Fields behind
