David
Edwards
David has recently
released his debut album, "Tipping Pictures." His music blends
blues, folk, rock and jazz and comes out in the mix with a
wonderful pop accessibility. Many have said that he has a
style reminiscent of Sting -- the influences are diverse,
but the album as a whole paints a cool musical picture. His
music is a hip, refreshing departure from the typical Utah
sound. Here's LDS music that you can play on the beach or
blare out your car windows. That you can share with anybody.
Here's music that will have you listening again and again
because each song is refreshingly different. He tours with
his 7-member band, which includes bass, guitar, saxophone,
trumpet, trombone, tuba, keyboards, and backup vocals. People
describe the band as funny sends chills down my spine, exciting,
highly listenable.
David was classically trained on the cello, but has always
had his heart in contemporary pop, rock and folk music. This
strange combination of influences has produced a musician
with an ear for the tight pop chord progression and the irresistable
hook, while underneath brews some remarkably deep, multi-layered
music. Check out the ear candy at http://www.davidedwardsmusic.com,
