Chuck Jonkey's first instrument is guitar (acoustic/electric).
He also plays a guitar/sitar (17 stringed instrument that he invented
- a very beautiful exotic sounding instrument). He also plays sitar,
surbahar (the bass sitar), and tamboura (Indian drone instrument).
He plays a wide variety of ethnic percussion, drums
and wind instruments (collected on his world travels) including:
tablas, dumbeck, kendang, dholak, kanjira, tin click, gambang, suling
(Indonesian bamboo flute), zamponia, charrango (Andean mandolin),
ethnic ocarinas and many other instruments.
He also own and plays Balinese gamelan instruments
(iron, bronze, bamboo and wood xylophone type instruments), Javanese
gamelan instruments and many exotic cymbals and gongs (from China,
Java, Bali and other places).¾¾
