Canti con brio
About the Choir
Re-auditioned annually, Canti's eighty singers come from Salt Lake and Utah valleys to meet once a week for rehearsals. This choir brings together friends who desire to uplift and inspire each other (and audiences!) through the committed rehearsal and performance of the finest choral music.

The choir was created by Ronald Staheli to provide a fulfilling musical experience for former members of Brigham Young University's select choral ensembles.

From its initial concert in 1994, Canti con brio has been received enthusiastically by capacity audiences. The choir was originally created by Ronald Staheli to provide a fulfilling musical experience for former members of Brigham Young University's select choral ensembles, but also includes other talented choral musicians from the community. Re-auditioned annually, singers come from Salt Lake and Utah valleys to meet once a week for rehearsals. This choir brings together friends who desire to uplift and inspire each other (and audiences!) through the committed rehearsal and performance of the finest choral music. "Canti con brio" means "sing with exuberance"--and the choir does just that. Dr. Ronald Staheli has distinguished himself as one of the leaders of the new generation of choral conductors in the United States. In addition to his work with Canti con brio, he conducts the Brigham Young University Singers. He also appears regularly as conductor in performances involving the combined choirs and orchestra of BYU, and directs the graduate program in choral.
